About Me

Hi, I’m Steph.  I’m in my early twenties (I mean thirties, I seriously accidently wrote twenties first) and live in the burbs of Denver.  I have a three year old sweet boy and a five year old spunky girl.  They are so amazing but also hard work.  My husband is a lieutenant at our local fire department and he’s my rock and voice of reason.  We also have a sweet old girl Mia (wheaten terrier) and Sawyer (a mastiff poodle mix, weird I know) I own a photography company where I specialize in wedding and family photography.  Between being a stay at home mom and running a photography company my life is a little crazy but it’s literally my dream.

I am not an interior decorator by any means.  I’m actually an interior design school drop out!  I switched my degree to business which I still have small regrets but I have retained my love for all things involving the home.  I love the land, the architecture, floor plans, furnishings, fix ups, and on and on. This blog is a place to share ideas, brainstorm, and follow along as I fix up our 80s ranch on a budget.

Random facts about me:

  • I can eat more crab than the average human
  • Clowns make me uncomfortable
  • I’m still mildly afraid of the dark
  • I think I probably should have grown up in the 30s or 50s
  • When I was younger I wanted to be a flapper dancer
  • I did a study abroad in Australia when I was 16 and have been back 7 times
  • I live within 10 minutes from my parents and both of my brothers
  • My favorite movie when I was 5 was Tremors and I still think it’s amazing
  • The beach is my happy place, if I go more than a year without going, my happiness is in jeopardy
  • Christmas is my favorite time of year by a landslide

This blog scares the crap out of me if I’m being totally honest.  I’m not an expert in anything and I suck at writing.  BUT I love talking with others to bounce ideas off one another.  I want to help give people the confidence to tackle their homes to make it everything they’ve dreamed of.  My goal is to help others put pieces together, gain confidence that you can create a home you love, and most of all, create a fun, friendly place to hang out and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.  Lets have fun and not take anything too seriously.
